SUMMARY:Guided Alberton History Walk
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate the anniversary of the launch of the Alberton History Audio Walk\, we are hosting two guided history walks to round up this year’s History Festival! The walk will take you past 20 locations to create a unique peek into what it was like to live in Alberton at different points in history.\n\nFriday May 26 – 10am\, meet at The Pear\nSaturday May 27 – 10am\, meet at The Pear\n\nThe stories you will hear have come from interviews with eleven past and present Alberton residents\, as well as from historical materials. The interviews\, historical research and putting together this walk were done by a team of dedicated local volunteers. Since its launch in 2022\, more stories have been added to the walk. We hope it brings these places to life in a new way!\n\nThe walk takes approximately 90 minutes and is wheelchair accessible.\n\nIf you are interested in coming along on Friday May 26 or Saturday May 27\, send us an email at hello@neighbourhoodnode.com.au or call 8240 3981.\n\nWe would like to acknowledge that this activity takes place on the Traditional land of the Kaurna People. DESCRIPTION:The Port Adelaide Bowling Club hosts Bingo every Friday morning\, to support the club and as a great social get together.\nCome along for a few games! \nThe club was established in 1903\, making them the second oldest bowls club in Adelaide. They practice social bowls every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:30pm\, and hold Thursday night teas fortnight at 5:30pm (for 6:00pm) followed by more bowling. Everyone is welcome to come and join bowling anytime\, just wear flat shoes or bare feet. \nThe club is self-supporting and totally run by volunteers.
