SUMMARY:Project Bread Run: Planning Meeting
DESCRIPTION:For a little while\, a small team of volunteers have been collecting bread from Bakers Delight on Thursdays\, and distributing it to QT and other places around the Port Adelaide area for people in need. It’s a great little project that help feed the community while averting significant amounts of food waste\, from landfill no less! Significant amounts of bread are required to be tossed out every day\, unless someone is willing to pick it up and distribute it to community for free. \nWe are getting together to do some planning and make sure that the Bread Run can continue with enough volunteers\, good processes and communication\, and enough places to take the bread. \nCome along if you might like to get involved or have some ideas! \nWednesday April 15th\, 6-7pm at QT Neighbourhood Node\, 67 Spring St\, Queenstown. \nThis project is a side project of the Anti-poverty Community BBQ that happens bi-monthly at QT. \n

SUMMARY:Dying to Know - Planning Meeting
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, July 2nd\, a passionate group of locals came together to imagine how we might bring death to life\, with openness\, honesty\, curiosity\, and care. \nTogether\, they dreamed up a monthly community conversation where people can openly talk about death and dying. The goal? To normalise these important conversations\, share helpful information\, and create a safe\, welcoming space where no question is too small and no topic is off-limits. \nThis won’t be a counselling group\, it’s about connection\, learning\, and gently breaking open a subject that’s often been kept behind closed doors. \nA project team has now formed and will be meeting for the first time on:\n📅 Friday\, July 11th\n🕙 10:00 AM\n📍 The Pear \nEveryone is welcome—whether you’d like to help shape and plan the project or simply stay in the loop for when the first conversation session kicks off.
