Navigating Strained Family Relationships

June 22, 2023 @ 11:15 am - 12:00 pm ACST

Event Series Event Series (See All)

Difficult family relationships can take many forms. Any kind of strained relationship can have long-lasting negative impacts on your health and well-being, such as experience fear and anxiety, not reaching out to family for support, suffering from lack of emotional or financial support during hard times, and so on.

To minimise these effects, it is possible to learn to identify causes of strained relationships and strategies to support peaceful interactions with family members.

In this free session neighbour and Emeritus Professor in Mental Health Nursing, Eimear, will take us through approaches to support your own health and well-being and possibly improve your relationships with those closest to you.

This activity is made possible with the generous support from the Australian Government Department of Social Services and our partner ECH Inc.

We would like to acknowledge that this session takes place on the Traditional land of the Kaurna People. We pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise that sovereignty of this land was never ceded and we stand in solidarity with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
