What is project guidance?

Thinking about becoming a Project Guide with the Minor Works Program? Brilliant idea! As a Project Guide, you’d be that friendly face helping your neighbours turn their smashing ideas into community projects that actually come to life.

In this role, you wouldn’t be doing the heavy lifting yourself—that stays with the project team—but you’d be there to lend a hand, share useful resources, and offer encouragement when they hit a rough patch. You’d help locals run Spark Sessions to get everyone excited about their ideas, walk them through the nitty-gritty of project planning, and point them towards tools they might need along the way.

The Minor Works Program provides you with training and a growing toolkit of templates and resources you can use while ensuring projects stay true to what the program’s all about—empowering people, making sure everyone feels welcome, and boosting community wellbeing. You’d join a team of other guides who meet regularly to chat about what’s working and share a few tips and tricks.

It’s cracking work—you get to see ideas take off and help build a more connected community where everyone has a fair chance. If you enjoy supporting others, building relationships, and seeing positive change happen from the grassroots up, being a Project Guide might be just the ticket!
