The Minor Works Program is a grassroots effort by Neighbourhood Node that focuses on making small but meaningful improvements in the community or the lives of individual participants. It covers areas within both the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and the City of Charles Sturt. The idea is to tackle little projects that can make a big difference—like sprucing up public spaces, supporting local initiatives, or getting community-led projects off the ground. And don’t worry, we’re not talking about anything crazy like moving mountains—more like moving garden gnomes to just the right spot.
This program is all about bringing people together to improve our neighbourhoods. It is flexible and adapts to the needs, input, and energies of those involved. Central is our monthly SOUP night, a potluck for ideas. During SOUP night, we eat soup and initiate, discuss, plan and further our projects.
In short, The Minor Works Program empowers locals to take charge of their surroundings, improving our neighbourhoods. It’s a small-scale effort with a big heart that boosts community spirit and gets us more involved in shaping our spaces and lives.
Join us at the next SOUP Night if you want to throw a party, plant a garden, start a business, or learn who your neighbours are.
