Today's planning meeting for Repair & Share has given us the next date to look forward to: Sunday June 28. Upon reflection, the timing of the event will be from 12-2pm people can bring in their fixing projects, with the session finishing at 3pm. Last projects can be brought in by 2pm.
We will be looking at recruiting more volunteers, to add more types of things that can be fixed. Confirmed at the moment are:
- Bikes
- Clothing/textiles (both sewn and knitted items)
- Locks
- Household items
- Toys
- Things that need welding
There will be activities for kids, as well as free lunch provided again.
All in an effort to continue building a community of care and support for each other and our environment!
We fixed bikes, clothes, household bits and pieces, toys, locks and more, while also fixing up our energy levels with delicious food by Rosalie and plenty of neighbourly chats. Over 30 people dropped by our very first Repair & Share session⦠not a bad way to celebrate Neighbour Day 2026!
Thereβs something pretty satisfying about bringing a wobbly chair, stuck lock or sad-looking bike back to life instead of sending it to landfill (or buying a new one). The circular economy was in full swing, and honestly, weβre a bit obsessed already.
Safe to say: this wonβt be the last Repair & Share session.
If you want to be involved in organising or volunteering at the next one, you can:
- Email us at hello@neighbourhoodnode.com.au
- Come along to our debrief and planning session on Friday May 22nd, 9.30am at The Pear
Neighbours wanted to help repair things for others on March 28 :) Nothing is too obscure, we will post a list of all things that will be able to be repaired ahead of time.
Can you fix:
- Musical instruments?
- Household items?
- Wooden items?
- Leather?
- Houseplants?
- Picture frames?
- Anything else?!
We would love to have you :)

Join us on Saturday March 28th, 12-3pm at QT (67 Spring Street, Queenstown) for the first 'Neighbourhood Repair & Share': an opportunity to share your skills to help fix things for others, and to meet some new neighbours while getting something fixed!
At the moment we have neighbours lined up to fix the following things:
- Bikes
- Clothes (& other textiles)
- Small electronic jobs
- Smart phone issues
We are looking for neighbours who would be happy to lend a hand (and some tools!) to help repair things people might need fixing. Think: jewellery, small furniture items, musical instruments, household items, etc.
Do you want to come and hang out, have a free feed and repair a thing or two?! Get in touch: hello@neighbourhoodnode.com.au
This event has sprung from the 'Community Compassionate Care' Spark Session on March 5th. If you would like to get involved in organising, we would love to hear from you too :)
