The QT Textile Hub has been meeting weekly for the last month. During this time different people have joined and worked on their own project, helping each other out where needed. From mending clothing items and socks, to knitting and sewing, the variety of projects people bring is great!
The group have started compiling a 'base kit' that stays at QT, with some basic items that are useful for many different projects such as a sewing machine, some threads, needles, etc. Because of the project's commitment to sustainability none of these items are bought new, but collected from surplus things from within the group.
Anyone is welcome to join, just come along to QT on Wednesday nights at 7pm!

We meet every Wednesday 7pm-9pm at the QT Neighbourhood Node, 67 Spring Street Queenstown.
BYO project, ask for others expertise if you need some help with your own project or need to learn how to use a tool or a new technique.

Neighbour Vee reached out to the Minor Works team with an idea for a neighbourhood Textile Hub: a physical space to meet regularly to do textile related things together! The idea is to meet once a week at a tbd place, to promote the circular economy, skill sharing, recycling and upcycling, reducing waste and building local connections. An opportunity to share, chat and develop skills along the way.
We will be exploring this idea further at a Spark Session on Wednesday July 23, 7-9pm at QT Neighbourhood Node, 67 Spring St, Queenstown.
Anyone is welcome at the Spark Session, with an invitation but no obligation to join the project team afterwards.
